Stitch Character
Stitch is the name of the genetic experiment 626, a fictional alien, and one of the two main characters of the Lilo & Stitch films and television program, also made into a video game as well as the main antagonist in some Disney games. Originally created to cause chaos across the galaxy, he is marked by his short temper and mischievous behavior, traits that endear him to his friend Lilo, who adopted him as her puppy dog. He is voiced by his creator and the film's co-director, Chris Sanders.
Stitch Profile
Experiment 626 was named Stitch by the girl who found him, Lilo. Stitch is the alien protagonist in the film Lilo & Stitch, as well as in the television series that was based on it. He was originally created as an indestructible creature, programmed to create chaos and mischief wherever he goes. His abnormal strength and wits have one limitation: water. He is unable to float or swim because of his dense molecular structure. Stitch was created by the evil genius Jumba Jookiba, who describes his powers as “bulletproof, fireproof, shockproof and can think faster than [a] super computer. He can see in the dark and can move objects 3,000 times his size. His only instinct - to destroy everything he touches!”
Because of the illegal nature used to create him, 626 and Jumba are eventually caught by the Galactic Federation. While Jumba was sent to prison, Stitch was sentenced to be exiled to a desert asteroid. He is escorted by Captain Gantu, but he escapes, taking a police cruiser with him. He lands in Hawaii and disguises himself as a dog, and is adopted by Lilo. Two agents from the Galactic Federation are given the job of hunting him down, and they go to Earth to retrieve him.
Stitch is often seen as a blue alien genetic creation strongly resembling a koala. He has the ability to change his appearance, but only to retract a second set of arms, his claws, his antennae, as well as three spines on his back. When Lilo encounters him, she trains him to be good, using her idol, Elvis Presley as a model. Stitch is unable to suppress his destructive temperament at first, and Lilo becomes frustrated by her efforts. Stitch initially wanted to use Lilo as a shield against Jumba and Pleakley, sent to capture him. Soon, Stitch realizes the attachment he has with Lilo, and saves her from Gantu. The Grand Councilwoman of the Federation allows him to stay, serving his exile on Earth with Lilo watching over him.
In the first Lilo & Stitch movie, Stitch was voiced by his creator and the film’s co-director, Chris Sanders.
